I have heard about &#8220;<strong>RSS Feeds<\/strong>&#8221; for years , but the way it&#8217;s been described, it just sounded like something only Techno-\u00dcberNerds would be interested in.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;You need a news aggregator, application, ping this, dilithium crystal flux capacitor&#8230; blah, blah, blah&#8230;&#8221;<\/em><br \/>\n*Yawn*&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, for us English-speaking folks that doesn&#8217;t have every episode of Star Trek memorized&#8230;<br \/>\n<strong>Recently, I have learned there are a whole lot of uses for everyone with RSS Feeds.<\/strong> Mainly, it can save you a lot of time and only visit a site when there&#8217;s something new and interesting. It&#8217;s great, especially if you are a very busy person, and\/or or have blogging friends scattered everywhere.<\/p>\n<p>So here is how to bookmark &#8220;Live Content&#8221;. You can not only do it with *my* RSS feeds, but any other sites that offers feeds as well.<\/p>\n<hr size=\"1\" \/>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 1.5em;\">STEP ONE: Go to the RSS Page&#8230;<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ericbrooks.com\/rss\/\" target=\"rss_page\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin-right: 7px;\" src=\"http:\/\/ericbrooks.com\/images\/tutorials\/rss_li.png\" alt=\"EricBrooks.Com RSS Feed Page\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" align=\"left\" border=\"0\" \/><strong>Subscribe to EricBrooks.Com via RSS Feeds<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nClick on any one of the feeds that may interest you&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"ebcom_rss_tutorial_01\" style=\"text-align: center;\" src=\"http:\/\/ericbrooks.com\/images\/tutorials\/ebcom_rss_tutorial_01.png\" alt=\"Clicking on the EricBrooks.Com main RSS Page\" width=\"458\" height=\"176\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You have the option to put them on your Google Page (or Google Reader), or MyYahoo, but what we want is to bookmark it in our browsers&#8230; Firefox appears to be the most popular browser these days, according to recent stats, so I will mainly focus on that in here..<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"ebcom_rss_tutorial_02\" src=\"http:\/\/ericbrooks.com\/images\/tutorials\/ebcom_rss_tutorial_02.png\" alt=\"Choose &quot;View Feed XML&quot; for Live Bookmarks\" width=\"458\" height=\"183\" \/><\/p>\n<hr size=\"1\" \/>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 1.5em;\">STEP TWO: Subscribe with &#8220;Live Bookmarks&#8221; (Firefox)&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>With <strong>Chrome<\/strong>, add it to your Google Reader.<\/li>\n<li>With <strong>Safari<\/strong>, click on the &#8220;RSS&#8221; button in the address bar, and then click on &#8220;Actions:&#8221; &gt; &#8220;Add Bookmark&#8221; on the lower right side, and view in your toolbar.<\/li>\n<li>With <strong>Internet Explorer<\/strong>, click on the RSS Icon <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ericbrooks.com\/rss\/rss_li.png\" alt=\"EricBrooks.Com RSS Feed Page\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" border=\"0\" \/> in the right side of your toolbar and subscribe, and then view it in your &#8220;Feeds&#8221; tab in &#8220;Favorites&#8221;&#8230; but does anyone even use IE anymore???<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Keep it on the default <strong>&#8220;Live Bookmarks&#8221;<\/strong> and press the <strong>&#8220;Subscribe Now&#8221;<\/strong> button&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"ebcom_rss_tutorial_03\" src=\"http:\/\/ericbrooks.com\/images\/tutorials\/ebcom_rss_tutorial_03.png\" alt=\"Keep it on the default &quot;Live Bookmarks&quot; and press the &quot;Subscribe Now&quot; button\" width=\"458\" height=\"176\" \/><\/p>\n<hr size=\"1\" \/>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 1.5em;\">STEP THREE: Find the feed in your bookmarks&#8230;<\/strong> In your Firefox Bookmarks (And you can save it anywhere in your bookmarks, actually. It&#8217;s best to keep all your favorite reads in one spot.), you&#8217;ll find a special icon for feeds, and in that, a full list of items&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"ebcom_rss_tutorial_04\" src=\"http:\/\/ericbrooks.com\/images\/tutorials\/ebcom_rss_tutorial_04.png\" alt=\"You will now see the EricBrooks.Com site feed in your Bookmarks Toolbar\" width=\"458\" height=\"181\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You can see by the icons what is fresh content or what you have visited already&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"ebcom_rss_tutorial_05\" src=\"http:\/\/ericbrooks.com\/images\/tutorials\/ebcom_rss_tutorial_05.png\" alt=\"The icons will indicate what is &quot;read&quot; and &quot;unread&quot;\" width=\"458\" height=\"181\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Like I said, you can not only do that with this site, but other sites you like that offer RSS Feeds.
