{"id":81,"date":"2002-12-22T06:15:53","date_gmt":"2002-12-22T09:15:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ericbrooks.com\/soapbox\/?p=81"},"modified":"2002-12-22T06:15:53","modified_gmt":"2002-12-22T09:15:53","slug":"up-down-in-and-out-girl-you-know-what-its-about","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ericbrooks.com\/soapbox\/up-down-in-and-out-girl-you-know-what-its-about\/","title":{"rendered":"Up down in and out (Girl, you know what it&#8217;s about!)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m too old (and the wrong sex) to be a &#8220;Skeemer&#8221;, right?<br \/>\nHey, have any of you guys ever heard of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thegrandskeem.com\" target=\"offsite\">The Grand Skeem<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a band out of NYC, I know they have a MASSIVE following in the NY\/PA\/NJ area, and they get a lot of airplay here.  I&#8217;m trying to figure out if they caught on in the rest of the country. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thegrandskeem.com\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"The Grand Skeem\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ericbrooks.com\/images\/posts\/grandskeem.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"93\" border=\"1\" align=\"right\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We caught them Friday night at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.resortsusa.com\/fernwood.php\" target=\"offsite\">Fernwood<\/a> for a charity show they put on for underpriviledged kids &#038; a local hospice.  These guys put on one hell of a show! The best comparison I can make for them would be a cross between The Beastie Boys and Red Hot Chili Peppers.  Kind of a hard-rock\/hip hop mix.<\/p>\n<p>Anarchtica is like their second home, as they filmed their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.poconorecord.com\/2002\/local\/exd11942.htm\" target=\"offsite\" title=\"MTV has The Grand Skeem for Fernwood\">&#8220;Baby Got Back&#8221; video<\/a> at Fernwood.
