Standing next to the leader of South Korea at the White House on Friday, President Biden said he was 'deeply concerned' about the nuclear threat from North Korea and said he wouldn't repeat the mistakes of past administrations.

President Biden awarded Col. Ralph Puckett Jr., a 93-year-old Korean War hero, the Medal of Honor on Friday. The ceremony was done in conjunction with a visit by the president of South Korea.

Celebrations broke out in Gaza after Israel and Hamas agreed to a cease-fire on Thursday. The truce comes after more than 10 days of fighting that has taken hundreds of lives.

A funeral was held for Yusef Abu Hussein, a Palestinian reporter working in Gaza overnight who was killed in an Israeli airstrike. He was the first journalist to be killed in the latest Israeli bombardment of the territory.

President Biden delivered the keynote address at the United States Coast Guard Academy's 140th Commencement Exercises. This was the second time Mr. Biden addressed the academy's graduating class.

Palestinian citizens, activists, workers and business owners shuttered stores and downed their tools in an organized strike, and took to the streets protesting Israel's air campaign in Gaza and other measures targeting Palestinians.
