I was gonna rename the site “BEGORRRAH!” or “BLARNEY!” for all my Irish CyberPals out there, considering I never got around to making St. Paddy’s E-Cards . Maybe change the red graphics so they don’t burn your eyeballs out against the green background….But then again… that was too much work for just one day. Considering my boss & I were up ’till 4AM doing the final database & CGI tweaks for the Pocono Record’s Pocono Property Showcase, where I added “Price Range” in the search parameters this month…. I present instead:

  • Happy Drunks.Com – What says St. Patrick’s day better than this site? An advice column entitled “Dear Wino”, “Damn ugly party picks”… lots of fun stuff to do while your Corned Beef is boiling.
  • Perl Grrls – Brought to you by the incredibly talented Tiffany Mulroy (a fiiiine Irish name). Free and shareware CGI scripts… and they’re all yours! What’s even more fun is trying to say “Perl Grrls” with an Irish Brogue… (Come on say it with me “Perrrrrl Grrrrls”. No, let the “r”s just roll off your tongue….)
  • U2.Com – And what would this day be without Dublin’s answer to the Fab Four? News, updates, merchandise… typical fan site stuff.

A List Apart just released a new article “SMIL When You Play That”. A gentle introduction to Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language.

Does E-TV even get an honorable mention??!!??? NOOOOOOoooooooo…

I’m not bitter. Really.

The upside to RealVideo is that it compresses a video to an incredibly small size, easily streamed on the web. The downside is the images are kinda muddy…. kind of like listening to something you recorded on Memorex 10 years ago. hopefully that will change in time.

  • Don (Rat Bastard) Bruns has survived another dreaded surgery… let’s hope he remembers me in his will next time.
  • Jeffrey Zeldman is away at… oh hell, we all go to Zeldman.com everyday, what’s the point of telling you??!!!?
  • Debra Smouse is still a sweetheart, and just got entered in the Guinness Book of Records for having the world’s largest checkbook.

I WORSHIPPED the guy!!!! His site is packed with all of the artwork he’s done over the years. Great site… designed and maintained by Frank Frazetta, Jr.
  • Kepi’s Outpost – A very entertaining site by Jeff Jensen. Lots of entertainment here including “The Poopie Page”, to let you know who’s on their Sh*t list this week; The Link Lounge; Web’s most beautiiful women; You can play “Tailgunner”;

  • I’m baaaaaaaaaack…. the phone line in my H-O-U-S-E is finally on after three weeks, been stuck in Stroudsburg for three days (I’ve been updating the site at work), and had to get a new ISP because Epix has no local access numbers in our area. On the bright side, as a Pocono Record employee, I’m paying a whopping $7.50 a month for their Internet Service.
  • E-Toys has closed their doors forever tonight. E-Toy offers their fallen foes a moment of silence. Lest ye forget what happened.

Loony Dot Org, one of the greatest sites ever created, is being threatened with extinction under ICAAN’s new proposition to revoke “.org” TLD’s at will.

This is completely unacceptable. I need that site to keep me laughing my ass off during the hard times. John is a frigging genius. Hell, if Zeldman considers me the “Don Rickles” of the web… then John is the web’s answer to “George Carlin”…. hands down.

There are lots of “org” sites that are being threatened, like… like…

Well, Loony Dot Org is the only one worth a damn, but you get my point. Get involved!
And you can Quote me on that!

Story that rocked the Poconos…

I finally had the honor of meeting Nancy Pugsley tonight at a diner. She was picking up more petitions to have the 13 year old monster that raped her 19-month-old granddaughter tried as an adult.

She’s collected thousands of signatures in less than a month (she’d get more if the word “Castration” was somewhere in the petition)…Several network news shows are interested in picking up the story. Keep an eye on it. I think the days where evil little bastards are going to start doing hard time if they do the crime… is finally here!
