Some stuff

Here’s a few things I’ve missed though all the fun we had at Chris Power’s expense:

  • The Ripperman’s mom passed away on Dec. 8th. :0(
  • Santa Claus has a weblog… I’m HAVING second thoughts about him entering my house in the middle of the night, how about you?
  • Here’s YOUR chance to be Santa:
It’s going to be a rough Christmas for Kimberly & her kids. She posted a wish-list on Amazon with some stuff she wasn’t able to get…

So if you guys can help (or at least spread the word, there’s still stuff there.). YOU WOULD SO TOTALLY ROCK!
Kids *have* to have Christmas… simple as that.
    Thanks!!!!!!!

    • Dollheads.Com – wow… I can’t believe it’s been a year and a half since Faith & I wrote to each other. Always witty, always funny, always a pleasure. Tons of craft ideas and an inside peek of the life of her Wonderdog and Gassy but lovable cat. Her journal is so damn good it’s often plagiarized by others, and she has a book coming out in 2002.What a cutie, it was great to hear from her again! :0) Go check her site out!
    • SHOUTcast – So what are you waiting for? Bonnie Burton’s doing it, so is Al and Oliver Willis… Eventually, so will renob & SpoogE…I’m talking about making your own internet radio show, streaming MP3 technology bay-bee! SHOUTcast shows you how it’s done.

At the sound of the tone, my main counter will be at 999,145

    Some Sunday thoughts…

First of all, let me be the first to shout out how much I love Amber. A lot of people have a hard time with hearing the truth. Much less, in an “In-our-face-pull-no-punches” style. Certain hateful people decided to go on a “morality-kick” and we were all suddenly expected to be held to some ridiculous standard like we’re public officials or something.

Her reaction was the same as mine. “So what?”.
Game. Set. Match. End of conversation. The only true way to squelch a controversy.

We had a long talk this week about “being in each other’s corner”. Deep down inside, she has a heart of gold, and despite being burned will still go out of her way for a friend. She doesn’t have to spew bile and hatred to get attention, then play martyr, then have to convince people “I’m not really like this… I’m a nice person if you get to know me.”

Amber’s the real deal…. and I couldn’t think of a better person in my corner.

Same with John, BWG, Jim, Al, Matt, and Jon.

There’s more. There’s lots more… but these are people stuck in between camps, that the price of speaking out against this small (but loud) minority is too much to pay. I know, and I still love you.

Randall Van der woning (aka “The Big White Guy”) was Debbie’s biggest victim. As I stated in my newsletter last night, he lost his mom to cancer as a child, then his dad to cancer at the time he met “Kaycee”. If anyone should want Debbie’s head on a stick, it should be him. On top if being victimized, he then became a suspect in a massive conspiracy (hell, I’m ashamed to admit I even had my doubts)… all for being good-natured, caring and trusting. But you won’t find him in the middle of *another* group of hatemongers. Their agenda is to have their names plastered on every newspaper and television set. The same people that told you “don’t believe anything until you check it out” will slap you down, put words in your mouth, and discredit you if you dare question them, or get in their way.

    The truth is out…
Now he wants to just get on with his life.
Just like so many other people that were sucked into the lies
There’s a lesson to be learned there.

    Count me in BWG’s corner.

(Yeah, I still think Debbie’s a hell of a writer, but that’s beside the point.)

Jon saw I was about to be massacred by said hate group above. He gave me a back door to get the hell out of there… and I took it.

But Jon also has me pegged. He knows I can play a crowd like a stradivarius. Know when to be a loud mouth, know when to scream for attention, be a hero, be an asshole, and play martyr to stop people dead in their tracks. I know what I’m doing. You only make me more powerful when you attack me publicly.

Jon would also like me to lay off the caffeine pills, and mellow out. :0)

When I redid the archives here, I relived times that were the most painful periods in my life… marked in between harsh remarks, “blog wars”, answering people back, heated debates…

Was it Karma? Totally unrelated? Or should I have had a better grasp controlling real-life events rather than escaping into the internet?

Who knows… but I’m really tired of it right now. There’s enough hate. I want to be a more “positive” force on the web now.

I’m blessed by a great core of friends. Friends that will back me whether I’m right or wrong. They’d prefer “right” a little more, but…

I can’t make any promises. Like Tiffany said (before *she* was temporarily run off the web by the “web nasties”): “It just wouldn’t be me.”

    In conclusion:

    • You are judged by the friends you keep.
    • You are fooling no one. Your hatred and inner-ugliness will one day consume you.
    • You have *NO LIFE* whatsoever, if you actually sat down and read this all in one sitting.

    Newz & Gossip

    • Some great scenes of the Spider-Man movie, shot in NYC on Thursday, over at Spider-Man Hype.Com
    • Via Webbieworld: Have you checked out Fonts-NOW! ??? Over 3,800 fonts… tons of links, articles & great resources for the budding young Fontographer. This site rocks.
    • Like Lucid Confusion, I refuse to give the Webbie Awards any acknowledgement, out of loyalty for Mark Connell… for those of you that don’t know, the idea of the Webbie Awards was taken from him..

    • The official D O L L Y R O T S website! – Flash site by Shawn McBee. A few parts are still under construction, but you can get a sample of one of their songs in a pop up where Shawn uses Shockwave (not Flash, there’s a difference!) to stream an MP3. I also understand congratulations are in order, as two of the Dollyrots got married today.

Congratz guys! (I’m sure my wedding invitation was lost in the mail or something….) :0)

    • Greg Back Illustrator And Graphic Artist – Greg is one of the graphic artists for the Pocono Record. A master of Photoshop, if you take a look at his illustrations section. The guy totally rocks… He’s currently producing a graphic novel with a partner.

    Simply Meta….

Good Call! – Lucid Confusion’s Bluzz of the Week is Alwin Hawkins’ “View From The Heart“. Great site. Al tells it like it is, and with a sense of perception and sympathy that very few people can pull off. In a recent email to him I thought the quote from “Titanic” fits him best:

“You have a gift … you SEE people…”

    It’s a great weblog…. Check it out

I was gonna rename the site “BEGORRRAH!” or “BLARNEY!” for all my Irish CyberPals out there, considering I never got around to making St. Paddy’s E-Cards . Maybe change the red graphics so they don’t burn your eyeballs out against the green background….But then again… that was too much work for just one day. Considering my boss & I were up ’till 4AM doing the final database & CGI tweaks for the Pocono Record’s Pocono Property Showcase, where I added “Price Range” in the search parameters this month…. I present instead:

    Weekend Surfing Picks…

    • Happy Drunks.Com – What says St. Patrick’s day better than this site? An advice column entitled “Dear Wino”, “Damn ugly party picks”… lots of fun stuff to do while your Corned Beef is boiling.
    • Perl Grrls – Brought to you by the incredibly talented Tiffany Mulroy (a fiiiine Irish name). Free and shareware CGI scripts… and they’re all yours! What’s even more fun is trying to say “Perl Grrls” with an Irish Brogue… (Come on say it with me “Perrrrrl Grrrrls”. No, let the “r”s just roll off your tongue….)
    • U2.Com – And what would this day be without Dublin’s answer to the Fab Four? News, updates, merchandise… typical fan site stuff.

    Weekend Surf Picks

    • Frank Frazetta Art Gallery – Anyone who aspired to be a comic book artist in the ’70’s and ’80’s usually pauses in awe when the name “Frazetta” is uttered by us mere mortals. Moi? I WORSHIPPED the guy!!!! His site is packed with all of the artwork he’s done over the years. Great site… designed and maintained by Frank Frazetta, Jr.
    • Kepi’s Outpost – A very entertaining site by Jeff Jensen. Lots of entertainment here including “The Poopie Page”, to let you know who’s on their Sh*t list this week; The Link Lounge; Web’s most beautiiful women; You can play “Tailgunner”;
    • Countdown to Jeff and Amy’s wedding; And “Kepi’s Cool Site of the Month“… well, who can argue with their taste? :0)
