Well, it’s 80% backend work, so I doubt you’ll notice much of a difference, or that it’s almost a week of work over at the Font Section of this site.
I made the switch to MySQL and built all the PHP modules FROM scratch. It even has a cool new download method via Flash (it beats the hell out of the anti-leech script I was using, and now you can use Download Managers.)
Eventually I’ll have image samples of the fonts, descriptions, and search functions, I swear!
Don’t get me wrong, I really think DBMan totally rocks (as seen on Mike’s Pepys Project). It’s incredibly flexible, and I’ve seen it used for auctions and real estate sites…
… but CGI is, well… so “90’s”. You know what I mean?
Time to move up to the next level.

It all sounds a bit too tetchnikal to me… But then again, -I- don’t have to worry about such things anymore *clutches coveted font disc to chest and beams*
