I figured for the holiday season, I would follow in the footsteps of my spiritual leader, Reverend Mykeru and open up my own CafePress store:

EricBrooks.Com Stuff! (or “The CyberPal Store”). I don’t know, I’m still tossed. Maybe both.

I took a step or two back, and examined other shops, and approached it with five simple philosophies:

1. No one gives a crap about me, my website, or my cat Puddy.
2. Nothing here will be become a collectors item on e-bay… even after someone inevitably puts a cap in my ass.
3. Know your audience
4. Make it useful
5. Don’t let your branding be the main message.

For the “troubled teen/problem adult/rebel against authority” types that have become the cornerstone of this site’s success, I offer the “Enemy of the State” black caps ($13.99), commemorating the second anniversary of the anonymous weblog chronicling my run-ins in this lovely police state… and how they were eventually beaten at their own game.

It’s my hopes he becomes a status symbol of rebellion.

The thing with Cafe Press is that they REALLY nail you with shipping. I paid as much for the Reverend Mykeru mug in shipping as I did with the damn mug itself. So I suggest BULK SHOPPING.
