Weekend Surf Picks

  • Personality Creations – Jackie Capps is another phenomenally talented lady. Packed with clip art, craft tips, games… if you somehow manage to get through everything that site has to offer, you can send personalized letters for all occasions at her other site, All Letters.Com… a definite site worth bookmarking to return around the Holidays for the kids (Don’t worry, I’ll remind you… Actually, I’m reminding you NOW!!!).
  • DaVinci Graphics Gallery – It’s been said that DaVinci knows more about Adobe Photoshop than the folks who’ve designed it. Best known for designing the logo for The Phrozen Crew site, I’ve gotta say, DaVinci is my design idol!!!! Packed with high-resolution graphics in this portfolio, may take a while to load… but definitely worth it!!!! Tons of great tutorials to make you a PhotoShop Master in no time!
  • Stephanie Schaff’s Kick-Ass Website – Another sweet soul who has signed my guestbook. Features her family, an ode to a really lucky guy, and great photos from her trip to Rome for World Youth Day 2000. Check ’em out!
  • AleciaLand– A great personal page packed with pearls of wisdom like : “If your mother hates your small dog, keep her away from the vacuum.”, “Reading what big kids scratch on desks can teach you a lot.”, and “The name Eric is forever reserved for those with off-the-charts hottness aptitude .”Yeah… I like this site. A lot! :0)

Some WHUZZUP Linky Love to…

  • Amber, who redesigned her site, and it’s faster loading and better-looking than ever…
Not no mention the resemblance to your Holli, and my Christina is uncanny (and the story about their biological fathers almost identical).
  • Just as I vowed that you would never know who the President was, until I returned from my latest crisishiatus… you’ll never see WHUZZUP! in English again, until Patti tells me what the heck “i miei amici favoriti del blog ” means, and in what language.

MiScHiEf of the week: You know where it says ” – Microsoft Internet Explorer” waaaay up top in your toolbar? Well, I altered my Windows registry and changed it to

“Eric Brooks is SO DAMN CUTE!!!”

Well, to make a long story sorta unbearable, I was visiting one of my favorite redhead’s sites, and uh… well, Carole walked in to see this, and uh… she kinda got the wrong idea:

Carole REEEEEEALLY wants to have a talk with this young lady…. (oopsie!)

Weekend Surf Picks

Will resume next weekend with a load of cool stuff… just too busy!

Quote of the week:
“I am turning into one of those jerks who is “too busy” to answer his email. The tragic truth is that I am too busy. ”
– Jeffrey Zeldman –

Moi? I’ve always been a jerk, so that was never a problem. But the fact is, *I* have spent very little time online since the end of October (The full story coming to a SoApBoX near you real soon).

Lately I have been very involved in Do It Right Construction: Writing proposals, going on sales, making TurboCad drawings for permits, watching the Britney Spears nipple video, and playing Carole’s attorney and business partner (since obviously neither of them were worth a shit). See you all real soon & if you wrote me recently, expect a reply in the next few months & know I still love you, ok?

Your CyberPal,
-e-

P.S.: You crack me up! :0)

…were greatly exaggerrated!

Well the old Bushwick gang is resting easy, as an email just came through to all of us that Elias is alive & well in Florida!

The past nerve-wracking 30-something hours, consisting of us making calls to the morgue, The Daily News, police-friends pulling strings, and tons of comforting emails (one of whom included Patti )… It all finally came to an end as someone finally got in touch with him tonight… He’s touched to find out that we all still love him after all these years.

Heh heh… he’s "touched"…
I’m gonna fuckin’ kill him myself! :0)

I thank each and every one of you for your concern, and I apologize for returning such a small minority of email. But I do appreciate your thoughts, prayers and words of hope and comfort. Of course, I offer my heartfelt condolences to the other Diaz family for their loss….having shared it for a brief while.

We’re off to Florida to kick his ass now. See you in a few days.:0)
We love ya man… don’t ever do that to us again!

-e-

Does it really come in threes?

  • My thoughts and prayers to Jeffrey Zeldman and family for the peace & serenity they all deserve….
  • My sincerest condolences to Patti for the loss of her friend…
  • I’ve spent the day writing back and forth with the old gang from Bushwick (scattered across the country) all day, as one has brought this Daily News Article to our attention. We’re worried sick and losing hope fast.

Elias Diaz has been our good friend since we were all teens. We don’t understand why he would be back in Bushwick, instead of home, with his three young children in Florida. The fact is, we’re not even sure if it’s him.

Also in the Daily News Article:
“Police also said they had received calls from Diaz’s concerned relatives in Florida.”

And that line makes us fear the worst… his emails were returned “undeliverable” today.

Like Zeldman, I want closure. Like Patti, I want to explode in rage at this senseless murder of my friend. If anyone reading this is from Bushwick, or knows anything about this,
please get in touch with me!!!

Should our worst fears be realized, we’re planning a giant cyber-sendoff.
If not, someone’s getting their ass whupped, when we all fly to Florida, for making us worry like this…. Stay tuned.

WHOOOOOWHEE!!!!

Well, that was 12 innings of nail-biting fun! After much deliberation,I have decided to root for The Mets. Why? Because I have been to Shea Stadium more times than I can count, I always find myself rooting for the underdog, and the Yankees have already won 3 consecutive World Series games… give me one hell of a series, but uh, it’s somebody else’s turn, ok?

And the cigarette dumped in my iced tea when the Yankees took the lead has NOTHING to do with it! I wanna make that clear. :0)

Bushwick Days Part II:

Wow… it’s pretty amazing. Now that the kids are into The Facts Of Life on Nick At Nite, Ashley dug this out of one of my old photo albums, running around the house screaming

Your CyberPal & Lisa Whelchel in 1983Daddy dated Blair!!!! Daddy dated Blair!!!“.

Wow… memories of when Lisa Whelchel
visited “tha hood” in 1983. She was close friends with the pastor, Bill Wilson. That was her second visit to Metro Assembly of God in Brooklyn (I first got to meet her in 1980).She was a total sweetheart & really down to earth. I was running the house band there for the outreach programs. And well, you know how I feel about that place….

Aaaanyway….

Well, I can’t let Ashley down and think otherwise, especially as she’s telling all her friends at school Monday that her daddy dated “Blair Warner” and offering the pictures as proof; but the fact is, we had a couple of conversations that weekend, got this picture together, and that was about it. Sure I can lie to you too… I mean, how can you prove otherwise?

Besides, I had the hots for Jo at the time (Nancy McKeon, not The Webmistress). :0)

The only thing that remain is: What the hell kind of face am I making in this picture???? JEEZ, what I dork I am!

In Honor of Lisa, the theme is "Re-runs"Weekend Surfing Picks….In honor of Lisa, the theme will be “re-runs”. These are sites I’ve picked previously, but you probably missed them before WHUZZUP! officially became a weblog, and extremely mega-popular with over seven (count ’em SEVEN!) hits per day! (besides, I’m lazy this weekend!) :0)

  • Personality Creations – Jackie Capps is another phenomenally talented lady. Packed with clip art, craft tips, games… if you somehow manage to get through everything that site has to offer, you can send personalized letters for all occasions at her other site, All Letters.Com… a definite site worth bookmarking to return around the Holidays for the kids (Don’t worry, I’ll remind you).
  • Speaking Turtle – I love Native American sites. Abenaki wisdom rocks, bro!
  • GhostWolf – Out of the Abyss– This man’s tale of suffering and inner-strength is a must-read. (Warning: Survivors of ritualistic abuse are asked not to read this gripping tale!) He also has an extensive list of links for places to seek help if you are a survivor of abuse.
