Help Wanted: Posters on a message board

Spread the love

Can you guys do me a favor? (I’m spreading the word on this everywhere)

I just put the finishing touches on my job’s political/election model, and I got higher-ups watching me to see how well I do.

www.poconopolitics.com

It’s quite the programming masterpiece, if I do say so myself. Pure MySQL, database driven, has info on each of our voting districts, right up to Presidential candidate profiles.

Anyway… here’s my request:
Please register at the message board?

Any one of you guys that have started a message board knows what it’s like… it’s easier to get a bunch of junior high kids on a dance floor.

If anyone can just register so there’s more than just me (spradmin) on the board, and maybe even post a few topics… I can probably get the Pocono People involved. My plan is for the Political scene in the Poconos to use it for their soapbox… give an independent candidate the same level ground as many incumbents (for the next election, of course), discuss issues…. but I need to get the ball rolling.

Can you guys give me a hand?

Pretty please?

Look.
I’m on my knees here.

Even if you just register and don’t post… you’ll STILL be doing me a huge favor.

P.S.: If you hate me, it’s the perfect opportunity to humiliate me and get me fired… (the only catch is you have to register to do it).

  1. Okie-dokie, poconokie. Looks great. Love that eagle on the logo!
Was this a last-minute thing for the upcoming election, or are you hoping it will be an on-going “town hall” kind of meeting place?
I would like to see some articles about your local politics, to see how it’s going there; maybe even some politicians, weighing in on various subjects (but they’re probably too busy for that.)

    Good luck!

  2. Oh man, I can’t thank you guys enough! 15 registered members in less than two days. Len has been helping me debug things behind the scenes. A bunch of you guys have been keeping the discussion going…. excellent.

I notived someone on the left is giving Misty a hard time and someone on the right is giving Len a hard time… remember, you guys are members on the board too. Don’t hold back on my account. ok? I’ll step in if anyone gets too far out of hand.

And to answer your question, Kate. I’m thinking well beyond Nov. 2nd for this. There are a lot of political groups, activists, and candidates here in the Poconos that could really use a soapbox to put them on a level playing ground with people with big budgets. The internet is going to play a big part in politics FROM here on in.

  3. Not to worry. It’s been far to long since I’ve been in a fight with someone online and that guy is just BEGGING for it. heh.

(Sorry if it’s anyone who visits here. I didn’t recognize the username.)

Hard time? Oh, please. Orifice boy hasn’t even earned my contempt yet, much less my return fire. 😉

  5. Excellent, =e=. I tried to leave a comment over there, but maybe I needed to log in first? Anyway, I said I think America feels the need now for a “town hall” to close in the wide gaps in politics. Or something like that. It’s true, there is no equality now; either you are the Haves, the Have Mores, or the Silent.
