[Viral] Slow-Motion Marathons

From TrendHunter.com – Viral Humor and ComedySlow-Motion Marathons – This Slow Running Event in Los Angeles Promoted the New Baywatch Film (TrendHunter.com):

Slow-Motion Marathons - This Slow Running Event in Los Angeles Promoted the New Baywatch Film (TrendHunter.com)
(TrendHunter.com) For the release of the all-new Baywatch film, a clever promotional stunt was set up in downtown Los Angeles. Although many young people have never watched an episode of the original Baywatch, they are probably still familiar with the iconic slow-motion running in the opening credits, as it has made a lasting mark on pop culture. As such, a ‘Slow Mo Marathon’ was hosted by Paramount, featuring thousands of runners who slowly made their way across a 0.3 kilometer stretch, mimicking the way the original series’ opening credits were slowed down. This stunt offered an fun way to reference one of the most legendary parts of the 90s show. Just like a real marathon event, crowds of spectators gathered to watch the slow-motion run as it happened.

[Cracked] 4 Terrible Celebrities The World Has Given A Free Pass

From Cracked: All Posts4 Terrible Celebrities The World Has Given A Free Pass:

4 Terrible Celebrities The World Has Given A Free Pass
By Felix Clay – Published: May 05th, 2017 – The world loves some good celebrity gossip, especially if it’s the sort about how a celebrity may be some kind of monster in a Hollywood flesh suit. Look at James Woods — man, is that guy terrible. He sued a guy for slandering him on Twitter, then kept suing him after he died. He also expressed some joy at the thought of the man dying whilst screaming his name. And while James Woods is a current turd homunculus lurching around the fringes of fame, there are others out there who were just as bad if not worse than Woods who are apparently cool as shit these days for no other reason than we just got tired of caring.

[#ALA] User Research When You Can’t Talk to Your Users

From A List Apart:User Research When You Can't Talk to Your Users:

User Research When You Can't Talk to Your Users
It's not breaking news to say that the core of UX, in a vacuum, is talking to your users to gather insights and then applying that information to your designs. But it's equally true that UX does not happen in a vacuum. So what happens when you don't have the budget or the timeline to run user tests, card sorts, or stakeholder interviews? What should you do when your company doesn't want you bothering the paying customers who use their software? In short, how do you do UX research when you can't get direct access to your users? While the best methods for gathering user insights entail first-hand research, there are other ways to quickly glean qualitative data about your users 'wants and needs' beyond the usual lightweight guerrilla user testing options. For a start, companies that are new or have a smaller digital footprint can benefit from things like forums or even competitor reviews to get a better sense of the users in their industry vertical. And for more established companies, customer service logs and app reviews can be invaluable for learning what users think about specific products. Let’s check out a few techniques I like to recommend…

[#Design] CreativePro Tip of the Week: Using the Navigator panel in #Photoshop

From CreativePro.comCreativePro Tip of the Week: Using the Navigator panel in Photoshop:

CreativePro Tip of the Week: Using the Navigator panel in Photoshop
If you regularly work on high-res images in Photoshop and you’re not already using the Navigator panel, you’re missing out on a slick way of seeing both a close-up and a bird’s eye view of an image at the same time. That way, you can work on the small details while checking the impact of what you do on the whole image. And it can be especially useful if you have a second monitor, where you can position the Navigator panel and make it large. Open the Navigator panel by choosing Window > Navigator. As you zoom and scroll in the image, you’ll see a red rectangle in the Navigator panel representing your current view. You can click anywhere in the Navigator panel or drag the rectangle to change…

[#Marketing Strategy] Seaside Vodka Branding

From TrendHunter.com – Marketing StrategySeaside Vodka Branding – The Look and Taste of Seaworthy Vodka Captures the Flavors of the Sea (TrendHunter.com):

Seaside Vodka Branding - The Look and Taste of Seaworthy Vodka Captures the Flavors of the Sea (TrendHunter.com)
(TrendHunter.com) Made using Australian botanicals Saltbush, Dorrogo Pepperleaf, Lemon Myrtle and Corriander Seed, Seaworthy Vodka was crafted to highlight the flavors of the sea. In conjunction with themed packaging that doesn’t feel too contrived, Seaworthy makes for a product with a very direct source of inspiration; to be the perfect vodka for a Bloody Mary. The graphics on the Seaworthy Vodka packaging mimic the scars and erosions that would happen naturally if left in the ocean, but in bold contrasting colors. To further the theme, the bottle comes packaged in a worn wooden box, which sits inside a cotton net bag. Seaworthy Vodka offers the drinker a truly immersive product experience.

[Cracked] Rules That Make No Sense, But Everyone Follows Anyway

From Cracked: All Posts'Rules' That Make No Sense, But Everyone Follows Anyway:

By CRACKED Readers, Published: April 30th, 2017 – We are a society of rules. Or, more accurately, we’re a society of often dumb rules. If you need evidence of that, look no further than the bizarre societal conventions we all adhere to lest we risk being shunned by our fellow humans.
