Mountain Laurel Making History

Mountain Laurel Opening Night
I’m not sure if you guys are INTO that “making history” stuff, but I just created a slideshow for work about last night’s grand opening of the Mountain Laurel Center for the Performing Arts.

It’s an all-weekend gala including a $500 a plate dinner, featured guest of honor, Tom Ridge, major political figures…

History was just made.

Just so you know.

In case someone forgot to tell you.

Bob Dylan’s coming next week, btw.

Lotsa Fonts! CD

Lotsa Fonts!

You know you want one.

While I’m sure Ren and Alwin would have just been happy with me burning a plain disk and mailing it out… but you know me. I have to make a big production out of everything. (It’s going out today, guys. I swear!) :0)

Lotsa Fonts! will be available toward the end of this month to commemorate this site’s 5th anniversary on August 23rd. It will be a members-only deal, and it’ll only cost as much as shipping & materials (I have no intention of making money off of someone else’s hard work).

Over 2,000 free and shareware true type fonts for just a couple of bucks, right there on your desk.

Think about it.
More details in our next newsletter in about a week.

Still working my widdle fingers to the bone on the Pennsylvania Music Awards site.

Johnny has a tentative date for the SHOW next year at the Mountain Laurel Center for the Performing Arts.

… assuming we survive any potential terrorist attacks the grand opening next Saturday as Tom Ridge and Dick Cheney are expected in my neck of the woods (It *IS* named the “Tom Ridge Pavilion”, after all…silly.). Security measures have been… to say the least… scary.

Coming Soon…

So how’s the Pennsylvania Music Awards site coming along?

Pennsylvania Music Awards

Funny you should ask…
I’ve been working on the layout in Photoshop for the past three days. I was up until 4:30 this morning hoping to finish the mock-up, as Johnny Kai has a meeting with a grant writer on Thursday.

I tell you, some of us old-skewl designers should CHECK out template sites like Template Monster or Boxed Art for inspiration and new techniques. It’s just like the music biz, baby… you have to keep up with the latest styles, or you can become yesterday’s news really fast!

It’s all fun and games here

I made the decision to pull any stories of my families ordeals out of my SoApBoX Section.

The original purpose of it was to tell tales of hardship, endurance and ultimately victory. To give people who found themselves in a similar situation some hope, and possibly a solution…

… the only problem is most people on the web are vindictive idiots.

A serious note about prostate cancer

Well, no. Not really. Maybe, depending on your maturity level.

Personally, I like to consider myself “really mature for a seventh grader”.

Dr. D. links to a story which recommends “preventative care”, and it’s his professional opinion that men “clean their rifles every day to keep prostate cancer at bay.”.

Must be the heat

As the ugly clusterf*ck that we like to call the blogosphere continues in all its anger and self-righteousness and cowardly trolldom, I have to wonder if perhaps Dan has the right idea.

I have officially hit my “flame quota” for the week.

I’d like to remind you that the “name the newsletter title” contest is still going on for the two or three people on the planet that is still speaking to me.

Attacks on commenters will no longer be tolerated here.
(Unless they’re really really funny. It’s a judgment call)
Disagreement is cool. It sparks discussion.
